How to Set Up Your RunStar Scale with the Starfit App
Setting up your RunStar smart scale with Starfit lets you save measurements and review your progress over time.
This guide covers compatible RunStar body composition scales that use Starfit. Before starting, check the app name in your product manual—RunStar’s blood pressure monitors use a different app.
1. Prepare Your Scale and Phone
Install the batteries or charge your scale as instructed in its manual. For rechargeable models, disconnect the charging cable before measuring.
Place the scale on a hard, flat, stable floor. Avoid carpet, which can interfere with weighing.
Keep your phone nearby and turn on Bluetooth. Allow the permissions Starfit requests for finding nearby devices, as applicable to your phone.
2. Download Starfit and Set Up Your Profile
Use the download links on the official Starfit app page, or scan the QR code supplied with your scale.
Open Starfit, register or sign in, and complete your personal profile. Enter your height, date of birth, and other requested details carefully.
These details help the app calculate body composition estimates. If several people share the scale, make sure each person measures under the correct profile.
3. Connect the Scale Inside Starfit
Complete the connection through the app rather than your phone’s Bluetooth settings.
-
Open Account in Starfit.
-
Select My Devices.
-
Tap the + icon, then select the Bluetooth option to search.
-
Briefly step on the scale to wake its display.
-
Select your scale when it appears. RunStar’s connection guide identifies the Bluetooth name as Runstar-RX.
Check for the connection indicator on the scale’s display before proceeding. Menu wording and device names may vary by app version or model; follow your manual if they differ.
4. Take Your First Measurement
Keep Starfit open with the correct user profile selected.
Stand barefoot on the platform and position your feet over the sensing areas. If your model has a handle, hold its electrodes and follow the posture instructions in the manual.
Remain still until the measurement finishes. Then check that the result appears under the correct profile in the app.

5. Set Up Sharing for Your Household
RunStar’s guidance describes two ways to share a compatible scale:
-
Create separate user profiles within a shared Starfit account.
-
Use separate Starfit accounts on different phones.
When using separate accounts, disconnect the previous phone before connecting another. Only one account should be connected to the scale during a measurement.
Always check the selected profile before stepping on, especially when household members have similar weights.
What If the Scale Will Not Connect?
Work through these checks before trying again:
| What to Check | What to Do |
|---|---|
| Scale power | Replace low batteries or charge the scale; disconnect the charging cable before use |
| Display | Wake the scale before searching |
| Connection method | Search through Starfit’s My Devices menu |
| Another phone | Disconnect any nearby phone already connected to the scale |
| Phone settings | Confirm Bluetooth and relevant app permissions are enabled |
If the problem continues, close and reopen Starfit, restart Bluetooth, and try connecting again.

Start Building Your Measurement History
Once setup is complete, confirm that new measurements appear in your profile. Use the same scale under similar conditions so your records are easier to compare.
