Smart Body Scale

RunStar smart scales use Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) technology. When you step on the scale with bare feet, the sensors send a very low, imperceptible electrical signal through your body. Because muscle and fat conduct electricity differently, the scale’s intelligent algorithm calculates metrics such as body fat percentage, muscle mass, body water, and more. These readings are estimates designed to help you track changes over time, not medical diagnoses.

Yes — the scale supports multiple user profiles. It uses automatic recognition to tell who is stepping on the scale based on weight history and body composition patterns. If two users are very similar in weight, the app may ask you to confirm the identity to ensure the data goes to the right profile.

Yes — after pairing the scale with your phone via Bluetooth, you can sync your body measurements to popular health apps such as Apple Health, Samsung Health, and Fitbit through the RunStar companion app.

RunStar smart scales are designed for daily wellness and progress tracking. Our body composition measurements are based on advanced BIA (Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis) technology and have been validated against DEXA scans, showing a correlation with DEXA of ≥98% under controlled conditions.

As with all BIA-based devices, readings may vary depending on hydration level, body temperature, and measurement conditions. For the most consistent results, we recommend measuring under the same conditions each time (bare feet, on a flat hard surface).

While these metrics are not intended for medical diagnosis, they are highly effective for tracking trends and changes over time, which is what matters most for fitness and health progress.

For general use, the scale is safe for most people. However, if you have a pacemaker, implanted electronic medical device, or any condition that could be affected by electrical signals, we recommend using the scale for weight measurement only.

For the most accurate readings, place your RunStar scale on a hard, level surface such as tile, wood, or concrete. Soft flooring like carpet can affect pressure on the sensors and lead to inaccurate weight and body composition measurements.

Yes — the RunStar companion app is completely free to download and use on both iOS and Android devices. It stores your measurement history, helps you track your progress over time, and syncs with other health platforms.

The key difference lies in the number of electrodes and measurement depth.

The Lite Body Scale uses 4 electrodes located on the foot platform. It measures body composition primarily through the lower body, then applies intelligent algorithms to estimate whole-body metrics. This model is ideal for users who want reliable daily tracking in a simple, easy-to-use form.

The Full Body Scale features 8 electrodes, combining foot and hand sensors to measure both the upper and lower body directly. This allows for more detailed and balanced body composition analysis, including improved accuracy for segmental measurements such as arms, legs, and torso.

In short:

• Lite Body Scale (4 electrodes) — great for everyday wellness tracking and consistent trend monitoring

• Full Body Scale (8 electrodes) — designed for users seeking deeper insights, higher precision, and advanced body composition analysis

Both models use the same advanced BIA technology and app ecosystem. Choosing between them depends on how detailed you want your body composition insights to be.
